Rachel Skipor
Rachel Skipor
Based in Berlin, Rachel Skipor is a dancer, performance artist, and choreographer. She has worked with Komische Oper, Susann Neuenfeldt of PKRK, Kianí del Valle of KDV Dance Ensemble, Marie Zechiel, Isabel Cruz, and Roberto Duarte, to name a few.
As a choreographer, she has premiered her work “you can always carry me” presented by Radialsystem Open Stage, "my sky. this body" for CORDILLERA (Raum für Körper und Utopien), and is in collaborative partnership with cellist/composer Hannes Buder.
She has been a dancer in residence with the “Creative Gesture: Collective Composition Lab for Music and Dance” under the direction of Emily Molnar at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity (CA) and was a recipient of the Nō Studios Fellowship for Creative Professionals (US).
Skipor teaches professional ballet training, and is a certified instructor for pre/post natal Pilates. Graduating summa cum laude, Skipor holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and minor in Anthropology from Arizona State University, with special focus on human development. Skipor’s work acts as a foreground where they express their perceptions and experiences through a blend of both the arts and sciences.
